L-Felt™ Composite Felt for suture pledgets is a laminate of polyester felt and microporous expanded PTFE film. The microporous ePTFE film provides very smooth bonded surfaces, while the felt core provides toughness and strength. The composite felt is ideally suited for the manufacture of suture pledgets due to its low particle shedding propensity, firm hand, toughness, pliability, resiliency, and ease of cutting.
The polyester / ePTFE composite felts are great low cost alternatives to traditional PTFE felts. For those customers who prefer PTFE felt, composite felts are also available with PTFE felt cores.
The composite felt is offered in standard sheet sizes: 28cm x 28cm for polyester felt and 15cm x 15cm for polytetrafluoroethyene felt. We can also offer custom sizes upon request.
COMPOSITE FELT FABRICS CANNOT BE GAMMA IRRADIATED! USE ONLY AN APPROVED METHOD FOR STERILIZATION, SUCH AS ETHYLENE OXIDE (EtO) OR STEAM AUTOCLAVE.
